Life Lately

Hello, sweet friends! How was your September? It was pretty much a blip for me — good and productive, but blip-y all the same. I blinked and it was over. October’s good too, though, right? I made an effort to document my month (as a blogger does), but when the time came to sit down to write this post I was disappointed to only find a few photos worth sharing. In the future, I’ll be better. For now, here’s what we’re working with…

A big, sprawling golf course is around the corner from my house, and you better believe that I am on that thing nearly every afternoon, watching the sun set and letting Juniper run free. I think of it as my free yoga class, and it never gets old.

The other week, I got to visit the biggest bunnies I’d ever seen. They’re the size of cats, and they will bite your finger off. Cute though, amirite? And fun fact: While pregnant, the Mama rabbits pull at the tufts of soft hair on their bellies to make the coziest nests for their young. A+, rabbits.

These two photos put a huge smile on my face. My dog, Juniper, is and always has been skeptical and fearful of men. But as she has gotten to know Kevin, she’s become completely infatuated with him (join the club, girl), and the most adorably awkward, sweet relationship has formed. Way to make a dog mom proud, Juni!

A random note: the best tomato soup is made like tomato sauce: simmered, on low, for as long as you can stand. Upgrade it with a splash of sherry and heavy cream. Ain’t gonna hurt no one. Tomato season, I am sad to see you go.

Lastly, apologies for the inconsistent posting here on 3c — I started a new job a few weeks ago (yay!) and I am still trying to figure out how to balance it all. I will get better, I promise! As always, thank you all for reading. XO

  1. omg those baby much squee. Also, the Marcella Hazan tomato sauce makes a GREAT tomato soup. I just puree, add a teeny bit of cream (or even whole milk, in a pinch) and it’s perfect for a cold day.
