A Trick for Being More Productive

It is impossible to focus in the summer, and I find myself frustrated at the end of the day for not getting more done. Well, today I am trying out the Pomodoro Technique, which my friend Rémy swears by. The concept is simple: you work without distractions for twenty-five minutes, then take a five minute break. You repeat that four times, then treat yourself to a twenty or thirty minute break. I’ve done two cycles now using my iPhone timer, and already feel more productive. Twenty-five minutes flies by, and the break feels well-earned.

Have you heard of it? (It gets bonus points for being called Pomodoro, my favorite sauce in the world).

  1. This is a great tip! I’m the worst when it comes to distractions and have been working on ways to solve that. I thought about trying the 10 minute challenge and also categorizing my tasks for the day based on how long they should take to complete. I think this technique is probably a better fit for me though. I’ll try it and let you know how it goes 😉
