A Tip for Productivity

I don’t know if it’s the slightly warmer weather, but HELLO procrastination. In an effort to nip it in the bud, I’ve been re-evaluating my habits, and looking at the ones that completely derail my work flow. I realized that a lot of it boils down to two things: what I do right before I go to sleep, and the first thing I do in the morning.

So, as I’m winding down for bed, instead of watching makeup tutorials on Youtube, I read — even if it’s just for five minutes, or write my to do list for the next day, as recommended by this (INCREDIBLY HELPFUL) article. In the morning, instead of browsing through the new arrivals on Madewell’s website, I roll out my yoga mat and do a ten minute energizing pilates class. Or, I have breakfast and coffee but leave my computer and phone upstairs. It’s crazy how switching just one little thing in your routine can fuel productivity into the rest of your day. It’s been helpful to think of it as pumping gas into a car before a long road trip.

What little things do you do to stay productive or work towards a goal? Please share if you feel like it!

I think the relationship you have with yourself is everywhere, every moment of the day — to be able to be alone, to be able to think, to be able to count on yourself, to be able to console yourself, to be able to inspire yourself, to be able to give yourself advice. You are your best friend.” — Diane Von Furstenberg

  1. I started keeping a Passion Planner journal…along with a to do list and meal planning. It is amazing to at least have a plan…even if I can’t always follow it. It also makes such a difference to have things written down by my own hand and silly pictures and stickers and colors…love doing this.
