So…..I’m not religious, but recently, I’ve started a little dinner ritual. Every night, before eating, I say a prayer. Basically, I take a moment to reflect; I’ll usually mention one thing that I’m grateful for or want to remember from that day (good fish tacos, a conversation with my mom, a beautiful full moon), and then I’ll take a longer moment to think of someone in my life (or in the world, for that matter) that I want to send good vibes to.
I have no clue where I got the idea to do this, but I love it. There are those tiny moments in life — when you make a wish on a dandelion, or a lady bug lands on your shirt — when everything becomes instantly grounded in perspective, and the world goes quiet, just for that second. To make an effort to conjure that feeling, every night before dinner, has really done wonders. It’s like an instant mood lifter.
Would you try it?
